Volunteer Opportunities
The Garden is maintained by our very dedicated volunteers without whom we would not exist. There are many things to do in the Garden but there are also many behind-the-scenes tasks that must happen to keep the Garden operating. These are some of our teams:
Communications/Social Media: Assist with writing, content and graphics creation for communications to the public.
Educational Outreach: The Garden sponsors regularly scheduled free programs for the public. Volunteers find speakers and coordinate the arrangements for these presentations.
Fundraising: All of the funding for the Garden comes from donations, memberships, and grants and are essential to keep the Garden growing. We need grant writers as well as innovative thinking to improve our fundraising opportunities.
Gardening Team: Volunteers maintain the gardens by weeding, planting, pruning, watering, and removing debris on regularly scheduled workdays. We take a break during the winter months.
Grounds Maintenance: This team maintain the structures, hardscapes and larger pruning tasks that require power tools. This includes everything from carpentry to painting and keeping our pathways clear of debris.
As part of the application process, new volunteers must read and agree to follow the Volunteer Policies and Procedures. Volunteers must complete an Application.
