Butterflies in the Garden- 2015 Butterfly Festival

Together to celebrate their 10th anniversaries, Williamsburg Botanical Garden and Virginia Master Naturalists Historic Rivers Chapter offered to our community a Butterfly Festival at the Williamsburg Botanical Gardens at Freedom Park on August 1 and 2, 2015, from 9:00-5:00 each day. This festival had several parts, but the main and most exciting focus was the butterfly tent with over 200 butterflies. This tent and butterflies, provided by Virginia Master Naturalist Catherine Short, provided a wonderful opportunity for both children and adults to see hundreds of native butterflies close up. There were also independent activities for children as well as educational programs for families, children, and adults throughout the two days.
