The 2022 Arbor/Earth Day Plant-A-Tree ceremony will include two sister trees being planted in the newly accredited Williamsburg Botanical Garden and Freedom Park Arboretum. One American Chestnut will be planted in the Garden and another in the Free Black Settlement, unifying both as part of the new Arboretum. The event will be held on Saturday, April 23, at 10:30 a.m. at 5537 Centerville Road. The Free Black Settlement area is a short walk from the parking lot. See the notated map below. Attendees will receive a free Buttonbush sapling to take home and plant to support pollinators in their own gardens.
