December 2023 Path Improvement Project

Over the years since the Garden was dedicated in July, 2006, keeping the pathways clear and safe for visitors has been an ongoing challenge. Teams of volunteers tried to address the problems of drainage and erosion, along with encroaching vegetation, but it became obvious that the solution was beyond the scope of our volunteers and the equipment available to us. In 2023, the Board of Directors contracted with Gilley Construction for a major project to level the paths and install material that is water permeable, eco-friendly, and easy for visitors to walk on. Work started on Monday, December 11th and finished on Friday, December 15, 2023.

Many thanks to the Grounds Team members for everything they do all year long to maintain the Garden, and especially for their hard work to prepare the areas before Gilley Construction brought in the heavy equipment. As you can see from the before and after images, the results are wider paths that will be easier to walk.
