July 12: ZOO IN A SUITCASE. Location: Freedom Park Interpretive Center, 10:00 a.m., open to the public, $5 donation requested. Description: Want an up close and personal look at a menagerie of bugs, worms and snakes? Children will enjoy seeing and touching the fascinating creatures that live in our gardens, parks, playgrounds and home. Instructor: Clyde Marsteller, Newport News Master Gardener. No registration required.
