Introduction to Birding

September 19 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Nancy Barnhardt will introduce us to the fastest growing hobby in the US!  She will discuss basic bird characteristics and behaviors and keys to identify birds and their songs. She will also explain what equipment, field guides and apps are useful for birding and how to attract birds to your yard.

About our speaker:

Nancy Barnhardt is president of the Williamsburg Bird Club and vice-president of the Coastal Virginia Wildlife Observatory. Nancy is a Master Naturalist and an instructor in the Basic Training Ornithology classes.  She is also a Bird Guide for the Bassett Trace Nature Trail Walks in Colonial Williamsburg.

This program will be held at the James City County Recreation Center, 5301 Longhill Road, Williamsburg, Meeting Rooms B & C. Due to the larger room size which will accommodate all of our partipants, it is no longer necessary to register.

Must be 18 years or older to attend. This program is free, but donations are welcomed to support the garden operations.
