Hanging with the Bat Squad

There is something about October that makes us think of bats! Have you ever wondered WHY bats hang upside down? Or, how many species of bats live in our region? What do they do in the winter? What challenges do bats face currently, and why are scientists looking for more data about bats and their habitats?

The Historic Rivers Chapter Virginia Master Naturalists “Bat Squad” will present this month’s Learn and Grow to tackle these questions and share information about the data they have recorded while acoustically monitoring bats in the James River and York River areas.
