What's Blooming Now in the Ellipse Garden?
JUNE 2008 IN THE ELLIPSE GARDEN:
Summer plants are blooming all over the Garden, with daisies and black-eyed susans dominating the meadows. While we hope to have a water line to the Garden sometime late this summer, Ralph Will carring 5-gallon buckets to water sensitive plants in the wetlands is a common sight on their work days. There is a nice clump of Lizard Tail in the Wetlands area, bees are buzzing the Purple Coneflower in the Butterfly Garden, and the Elderberry is sprawling in the Native Woodlands. And as always, the Garden could use a few more volunteers. We hope you will join us on our work days in July and August.
